Preparation time: 10 min.
Cooking time: 15min.
Servings :4 - 5 medium sized servings.
Material Required For Poha
- 150 gm. Poha(Roasted, flat pounded rice).
- 1 Medium Onion.( finely cut)
- 25 gm. Fresh Green Peas.
- 1 Medium size Tomato(finely cut)
- 2 - 3 Tea spoons Finely cut Carrot.
- 2 Tea spoons Finely chopped Coriander leaves.
- 1 Medium size Potato (Finely cut)
- 1 Tea spoon Cumin seeds.
- 1/2 Tea spoon Mustard seeds.
- 3-4 Curry leaves.
- 1-2 Green Chillies (finely cut).
- 2 Tea spoons of Cooking oil.
- Salt to taste.
- 1/2 Tea spoon Turmeric powder
Directions To Make Poha
- Take a sieve and place Poha on it and wash it with water.
- Let the water drain so that the Poha becomes wet and soft but not soggy.
- Take a wok put oil in it place heat it.
- When the oil is smoking hot put mustard seeds,then cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chillies and cook for 30 sec.
- Add potatoes and cook for 2-3 min.
- Add carrots, peas and cook for 2-3 min.
- Add tomatoes and cook for 5 min.
- Add water soaked Poha, turmeric powder, salt and mix.
- Cover and cook for 5-10min. with occasional stirring.
- Add coriander leaves , mix cover and remove from gas.

Tips:
- Carrots, Peas can be replaced by French beans,Cauliflower .
- If cooked in non stick wok then oil can be reduced to 1 tea spoon.
Suggested Variations:
- For those who are not dieting roasted Ground nut can be added. They add to the taste, protein but lots of calories also.
- Poha can also be be made without putting vegetables.
- Only onions can be put while making poha.
